Harley-Davidson invented nostalgia, at least in the motorcycle industry, offering the first Nostalgia edition in 1993 with this model, FLSTN Nostalgia Limited Edition. Only 2,700 examples were ever built world wide of this retro Softail, which immediately gained the nickname ‘cow glide’ for its natural calf hide accents on the saddle, and added accessories saddleback, tank strap and saddlebags. The Nostalgia aspect came from structural details like the 16” spoked wire wheels with whitewall tires, the Showa reproduction Hydra-Glide front forks topped with a 1960s-style chrome fork top cowl and large peaked headlamp with twin spot lamps. The wide handlebars and leather saddlebags completed the picture of a much older cruiser, which was part of Harley-Davidson’s celebrating 90 years since the first prototype built by William Harley and Arthur Davidson.
