Comments Seed it faster, with better accuracy and control! The SF9830NT features an integrated two compartment tank and a narrow, 11.5’ (3.5 m), transport width. The brawn of the SF9830NT is the field proven, single rank, single disc opener system and the brain is the AgControl system providing product rate control of each meter shaft by section. This system delivers the precision high speed seeding performance and product rate control demanded by today’s farmers. The 175 bushel (6200 L) integrated system consists of two commodity chambers divided in a 60/40 split The seed is accurately metered through a stainless steel bodied venturi type metering system which provides a dedicated meter flute for each row. The ISO Task Controllers and electric meter drives provide a responsive material rate change with three section zone control and seed rate turn compensation. The SF9830NT can accurately place seeds at ground speeds far faster than competitive air seeders or conventional box drills.   Features .igg{float:right; padding:10px;} .tdg{border-bottom:1px solid #dedede;} .ttl{width: 100%; height: 30px; background-color: #eeeeee; line-height: 26px; padding-top: 2px; font-weight: bold; color: #fff; margin-top: 10px; color: #df0101; font-size: 14px; clear: both;}   Narrow Transport and Easy Maneuvering The SF9830NT provides unmatched transport dimensions and field maneuverability. At 11’ 5” transport width the SF9830NT hides behind the tractor greatly increasing the safety factor during transport. Having the seed tank integrated into the frame greatly reduces the overall length as compared to a conventional air seeder/cart configuration. This compact air seeder is easy to back into those tight irregularly shape areas of a field or simply maneuver around the farmstead. Hitch & Tongue The “A-Frame” hitch and tank frame are constructed of 4”x 8” x 1/2” (10.16 x 20.32 x 1.27 cm) tube steel providing strength and rigidity. A very strong single lip Cat lV hitch and towing safety chain are included as standard equipment. The tongue is angled downward enabling the packer tires to remain on the ground when the frame is fully raised for additional flotation in soft soil conditions. Main Frame The heavy 6” x 8” (15.24 x 20.32 cm) outer and 4” x 8” (10.16 x 20.32 cm) inner main frame has the weight and strength to meet the demands of tough high speed No-Till seeding. The 1/2” (1.27 cm) thick side wall tubing will maintain the structural integrity of the frame for the life of the machine. The frames produce the weight necessary to operate effectively in most conditions; however optional frame ballast kits are available. On-board Tanks The integrated 60/40 split tank poly tank provides dual product capabilities. There is 175 bushel combined seed capacity or 105 / 70 bushel split for dual product. A dual product application using the 105 bu compartment for seed, the SF9830NT will continue seeding 33% longer than two major competitor’s drills offering only a mere 70 bu total tank capacity. There are product level sensors and work lights off the back. The wide ladder and railed platform provide easy access to the lids for easy safe filling.   Dedicated Product Metering The ISO compatible Task Controllers allow prescription seed and fertilizer application. Each seed opener has its own dedicated meter flute to provide the utmost seeding accuracy. The meter rollers are made from durable polypropylene material. The system is a Venturi meter design eliminating the need for a pressurized tank. This greatly reduces the demand on the hydraulic fan. Each roller assembly meters its assigned product to a 10’ section of the drill. Each roller is driven by a dedicated electric motor powered by the tractor’s 12 volt electric system. Electric motors are most accurate and responsive and the SF9830NT is equipped with six dedicated motors to provide sectional shut-off, seed rate turn compensation as well as the ability to provide sectional rate control as required by prescription seeding.   AGCONTROL - Fuse Technologies Rate Control Turn Compensation Each section of the SF9830NT has the ability maintain preset product dispersal by controlling the rate of each meter roller. The individual electric motor drives on each meter roll provides the SF9830NT the ability to maintain these product presets based the individual ground speed of each section. In situations where one side of the implement is traveling faster then the other., such as going around a center pivot, the product rates automatically adjusted at each section. In the example to the right, the products A and B in section 3 will be traveling faster than sections 1and 2. The ability to control the rpm of each meter roll ensures each section maintains the target rates (population/product) based on their independent product values. Note: This feature is independent of the terminal and will work with any compatible ISO VT.   Wireless Blockage Monitoring This “IAS Blockage” system was designed for the Sunflower single disc drill. Wireless sensors are installed in the runs to warn the operator if lines are plugged or slow down significantly. One sensor for every run and the system is standard equipment.   AGCONTROL - Fuse Technologies Product A and B will each have separate product compartments. While both product compartment meter independently, they can both be filled with the same product. Each compartment has three independently controlled meter rolls dedicated to it’s product. This provides section and rate control enabling a “turn rate meter compensation” when following contours. Product A has a separate controllable meter for section 1, 2 and 3. Both product A and B are dispensed through the same single disk boot. Each section has a fixed width of 10' and each seed disk has its own dedicated meter flute producing unsurpassed accuracy.   AGCONTROL - Fuse Technologies Zone Control Zone control is the method of independently controlling crop inputs from multiple dispense points (sections) as per pre-prescribed prescription mapped elements by means of geo-referencing. In the example to the right, products A and B in section 1 is metering to rate Y while section 3 is metering to rate X. Section 2 is transitioning from rate Y to X. (transition can occur at the center point, leading edge or trailing edge based on user settings available in the terminal). In the case where product A and B are different product each meter roll is governed to their independent map based prescriptions.   Meter Access Easy access makes meter calibration a breeze. The plenum lowers hydraulically by activating the lever (inset photo 2) mounted to the inside of the tongue frame. The seed calibration bag (cal bag), calibration scale and meter gate wrench are standard equipment. With the plenum lowered (photo 3) and the meter assembly in the operating (closed) positon, suspend the cal bag beneath the center meter assembly to catch the product as it’s metered out. To activate the “product one” of the center section’s meter roller, press the “product one” key of the calibration controller (inset photo 4). The meter roller will run until a sufficient product sample has been collected. The calibration system will register the number of meter shaft revolutions and retain this information. Weigh the now filled cal bag and subtract the empty bag weight from the filled weight to determine the “tare weight” this is the weight that will be entered into the monitor. Repeat this process for product two, pressing the “product 2” key. The calibration program in the system will calculate the product weight and the number of meter shaft revolutions to determine the current product application rate and adjust the meter drives to produce the desired distribution rate. The process is simple and the location convenient.   Row Units Each tool bar on the 9800 single disk drill consists of two pairs of seeding disks and two packer tires. Each pair of seeding disks is mounted opposed on a common strut. This patented feature accounts for many of the unique seeding characteristics of this drill. By placing all of the openers in a single row, the opener spacing stays uniform in turns and when drifting on side slopes. The amount of soil coverage over each seed row is more uniform with this arrangement because there are no back rows to cover front rows. With all of the displaced soil thrown between the disks and in front of the packer tire, more loose soil is created for packing and less open furrows are created than with competitive single disk designs. With the cast seed boots precisely placing the seed at the edge of each packer tire, crusting is virtually eliminated as the seedling has an unpacked path to the surface. The five degree angle of the packer tire (patented feature) scrub and compact the soil closing the seed trench as well as keeping the tires cleaner in sticky conditions.   Opener Down Pressure The down pressure of each of the tool bars on the SF9830NT drill is loaded by hydraulic cylinders connected in a parallel circuit. The down pressure is uniform across the drill and consistent through the entire range of motion of the tool bars. This system is far superior to springs that increase down pressure when stretched or compressed depending on configuration. The system is reliable even in the presence of rocks and other obstructions. The active hydraulic circuit operated via the cab mounted virtual terminal allowing the operator to change the down pressure on the go.   Depth Control The color coded depth control collars on each of the frame lift cylinders (4) give a visual confirmation that each of the cylinders is at the correct depth. Utilizing the same combination of collars on each cylinder assures seeding depth will be uniform. Seed depth change require only minutes and is done at the lift cylinders. No changes at the seed openers are required. Compare the simplicity of just four adjustments versus forty-eight individual depth adjustments as is necessary with competitive drills.   AGCONTROL - Fuse Technologies Section control In the illustration to the right, as the SF9830NT moves into the area of the field that has been previously seeded (green area) section 3 meter drives will stop dispensing product from compartments A & B. As sections 1 & 2 move into the seeded area meter drives are powered down and product dispensing stops. As the drill moves into the non-seeded area (white area) product dispensing will resume as each section moves into the non-seeded area. AgControl maps the field as the product is applied and retains this information to prevent double application. The red arrows in the illustration represent the “look ahead” for the on/off mode of the meter drives. AgControl calculates the time/distance factor of the drill (seed boot location) to the green area (prior to the drill’s entering the green area) it will turn the meter drive to “off” based on the on/off look ahead. In this example, section 3 will be turned off first. The “look ahead” is configured in a formula of the time required for the product to travel from meter to the seed boot (product time latency) and distance from the GPS receiver to the location of seed boot (product placement offset). Product A & B utilize a common plenum and turn on/off at the same time.   Features .igg{float:right; padding:10px;} .tdg{border-bottom:1px solid #dedede;} .ttl{width: 100%; height: 30px; background-color: #eeeeee; line-height: 26px; padding-top: 2px; font-weight: bold; color: #fff; margin-top: 10px; color: #df0101; font-size: 14px; clear: both;} .list ul{list-style:disc; padding-left:10px;} .list li{width:80%;} Hitch & Tongue Frame Hoppers Meters & Seed Delivery AgControl Seed Placement Blockage Monitor
